Montreal Gears Up for Third Snow Loading Operation of Winter Season
Montreal is preparing for its third snow loading operation of the winter season, scheduled to kick off on Wednesday evening and continue until Thursday evening. The city’s crews will be working diligently across all boroughs to ensure efficient snow removal in compliance with the snow removal policy.
Approximately 3,000 workers and 2,500 snow removal vehicles will be deployed along 11,000 kilometers of city streets to tackle the snow accumulation.
To facilitate the operation, over 8,200 parking spaces will be available overnight from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., with parking bans lifted once the snow loading is completed. Special attention will be paid to clearing sidewalks for pedestrian safety.
Residents are urged to adhere to parking restrictions, keep sidewalks free of obstacles, and place garbage bags and bins on their property. Motorists are advised to park parallel to the curb, maintaining a distance of about 30 centimeters, and fold in their mirrors to assist in expediting the snow removal process.
For more information and resources, the City of Montreal encourages people to visit the Snow Removal section on their website. Additionally, the city has introduced the updated 311 Montréal mobile app, offering real-time snow removal tracking, alerts, snow clearing maps, and the ability to report issues or locate towed vehicles.
