The Montreal Canadiens secured a 4-1 victory against the Calgary Flames with a strong performance highlighted by Alexandre Texier’s goal and two assists during a thrilling game at the Bell Centre on Wednesday night. Alongside Texier, Lane Hutson, Oliver Kapanen, and Cole Caufield also found the back of the net for Montreal, while Jacob Fowler made 28 saves in goal. Joel Farabee managed to score the lone goal for Calgary, with Dustin Wolf making 31 saves.
Texier kicked off the scoring frenzy in the second period with a remarkable goal, showcasing his skill by roofing the puck over Wolf’s shoulder. Following a penalty box opportunity for Phillip Danault, Texier assisted in setting up Hutson for a powerful slap shot goal. Kapanen then capitalized on a rebound to extend Montreal’s lead to 3-0. Farabee managed to put Calgary on the board, but Montreal maintained their dominance with a 3-1 lead despite being outshot.
In the third period, Caufield added to Montreal’s tally with a well-placed shot past Wolf, securing his 21st goal of the season. Despite a disallowed goal for Nazem Kadri after a review, Montreal’s strong performance sealed the win.
