“Families Commemorate 6-Year Anniversary of Tragic Shooting Down of Flight PS752 in Iran”

Families of Victims in Downed Flight PS752 Commemorate Sixth Anniversary Across Canada

Today marks the solemn occasion of the sixth anniversary of the tragic downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752 in Iran. Families of the 176 individuals who lost their lives, including 55 Canadian citizens and 30 permanent residents, will gather for events in Ontario and British Columbia to honor their loved ones.

In Richmond Hill, Ontario, the association of families of Flight PS752 victims is hosting a special ceremony to remember the lives lost in the devastating incident. Similar events are also set to take place in Windsor, Ontario, and Vancouver.

Last night, human rights activists and elected officials joined together for a poignant candlelight vigil at Richmond Hill’s Unity Park. The vigil featured moving speeches from local leaders, including the mayor and a member of Parliament.

Canada, in collaboration with partners like the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Ukraine, remains steadfast in its commitment to seeking justice and accountability for the victims. Efforts to uncover the truth behind the crash and hold the Iranian regime responsible for its actions have been ongoing for years.

Notably, Ontario’s highest court recently upheld a ruling that holds Ukraine International Airlines legally accountable for providing full compensation to the families of the victims, offering a semblance of closure to those affected.
