A fire broke out in Place Ville-Marie, a prominent skyscraper in downtown Montreal, leading to the evacuation of the building on Thursday evening.
The Montreal Fire Department swiftly responded to the two-alarm fire that started on the 43rd floor of the building situated at the intersection of Cathcart Street and Robert-Bourassa Boulevard at approximately 5 p.m.
After an hour of intense efforts, the fire department announced on social media that they had successfully brought the fire under control.
More than 100 firefighters were on the scene working diligently to contain the blaze.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident. The investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing.
