Authorities in Nanaimo are currently probing a disturbing incident where a goat met a tragic end in an apparent assault by canines at the start of this month.
Reportedly, a pair of sizeable dogs invaded an unenclosed area in the quaint village of Cedar, situated to the southeast of Nanaimo, and launched an assault on a defenseless goat.
The distressed owner informed law enforcement that their cherished animal succumbed to the injuries sustained during the vicious attack.
It is suspected that the dogs responsible for the ordeal are a combination of a Rottweiler and a Rottweiler-pit bull mix.
In an effort to prevent future incidents, investigators engaged in a conversation with the property owner regarding fortifying security measures and recommended leveraging social media platforms to identify the owners of the canines.
