Violence Erupts at Longueuil Metro Station: Police Launch Investigation into Assault Incident

Longueuil authorities seek public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a morning assault near the Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station.

The Longueuil Police (SPAL) responded to a distress call around 8:30 a.m. last Saturday near Place Charles-Le Moyne. Allegedly, a woman in her 40s was assaulted by a man believed to be in his 30s.

The victim suffered facial and upper body injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital. Fortunately, her condition is stable, and the injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and is currently at large. Both individuals involved may be homeless, and their relationship to each other remains uncertain.

SPAL has indicated that the incident seems targeted and does not present a general threat to the public. The area has been cleared, but police are diligently pursuing their investigation.
