The Ontario Provincial Police have implemented a shelter-in-place directive in Simcoe following reports of potentially armed individuals in the area.
According to authorities, the incident is unfolding in the vicinity of Kent and Union streets. As a safety measure, law enforcement has blocked off Colborne Street North, Union Street, Young Street, and Kent Street.
In an online announcement, the OPP advises residents to adhere to safety guidelines while the situation is ongoing.
