Toronto police seek public assistance in locating a man linked to a firearm and drug investigation that unfolded after a vehicle evaded a traffic stop and caused multiple collisions downtown.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, when officers tried to stop a vehicle at King Street West and Portland Street. The driver fled, crashing into four vehicles before abandoning the car with the passenger and fleeing on foot.
Upon apprehending the driver, identified as Hanad Aden, 33, of Toronto, authorities discovered a loaded handgun, cash totaling $5,000, and oxycodone and codeine in the vehicle. Aden faces various charges related to firearms, drugs, and dangerous driving, including possession of a firearm and fleeing the scene of a collision.
The passenger, Suleyman Mohaidin, 31, of Kitchener, is now wanted on numerous charges, including possession of a firearm and trafficking a controlled substance. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Police ask the public to call 911 if they spot Mohaidin and to provide any information on his whereabouts to authorities or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
