A man, aged 35, who was stabbed multiple times during a late-night conflict in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest area is now in stable condition, according to police reports.
The incident unfolded shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Notre-Dame Street West and Station Road, where the victim was discovered with upper body wounds believed to be from a sharp object, as per Montreal police (SPVM).
Upon the arrival of emergency services, the injured man was conscious and breathing, and he was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
Initially, there were concerns about the severity of his injuries, but authorities have since confirmed that his condition has improved.
Authorities suspect that a disagreement among multiple individuals escalated into a violent altercation. Following the event, several suspects were observed fleeing the area.
At present, no arrests have been made. The SPVM is actively investigating the stabbing incident, with the aid of a canine unit and forensic experts, to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
