Northbound traffic on Highway 400 near County Road 88 in Bradford is at a standstill this Tuesday morning due to a serious multi-vehicle accident involving a police officer and resulting in one person being hospitalized. The collision occurred at approximately 3 a.m., leading to a complete closure of the northbound lanes as emergency responders rushed to the site, including Aurora OPP, firefighters, and paramedics.
According to Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), three vehicles were caught up in the crash, with one being a police vehicle. However, details on the officer’s injuries have not yet been disclosed.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and steer clear of the affected area as the closure is anticipated to remain in place for an extended period. The OPP has not issued a timeframe for when the highway lanes are expected to reopen.
