Hamilton authorities seek public assistance in the search for a Toronto man linked to a violent stabbing incident at a Queenston Road motel earlier this month.
The incident took place at the Red Rose Motel on Jan. 2, where a woman was reportedly assaulted in the parking lot. The victim, an adult female, was forcibly removed from a vehicle and subjected to multiple stabbings by a man known to her.
The victim was promptly taken to the hospital with severe injuries and is currently in the process of recovery.
According to a recent press release, the gravity of the assault prompted a shift in the case, leading the Hamilton Police Homicide Unit to take charge once the evidence supported an attempted murder charge.
The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Joel Benjamin from Toronto. Authorities confirm that he is still at large, and efforts to apprehend him are underway.
Police are calling on the public to provide any information or tips regarding Joel Benjamin’s whereabouts or details relevant to the case.
