“Wave of Violence: Three Major Homicide Probes Ignite South of Fraser River in Just One Week”

Over the past few days, several major homicide cases have unfolded south of the Fraser River, leaving authorities scrambling for answers.

Since last Friday, a string of violent incidents has rocked the communities of Surrey and Abbotsford, claiming the lives of three individuals. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is facing a challenging puzzle as they work to uncover the motives behind these tragic events and identify the victims involved.

The first incident occurred on Jan. 9 in Abbotsford, where a 28-year-old man, known to law enforcement, was fatally shot in what appears to be a targeted attack linked to gang activity.

Shortly after, on Monday morning, firefighters made a grim discovery in Surrey as they found a body inside a burning residence. IHIT has classified this death as suspicious and likely connected to organized crime, with ties to an abandoned burning vehicle located near Redwood Park.

The series of violent events continued on Tuesday when another body, riddled with gunshot wounds, was found in a rural area of Surrey. Once again, a burning vehicle nearby signaled a potential gang-related killing, further complicating the investigation.

Authorities are withholding crucial information, including the identities of the victims and specific details about the incidents, as they urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in solving these cases.
