“Hockey Legends Reunite: Jets Announce Alumni Showdown Before 2026 Heritage Classic!”

Excitement Brews as Former Hockey Stars Gear Up for Heritage Classic Alumni Game in Winnipeg

Get ready for a blast from the past as retired hockey legends prepare to lace up their skates for a friendly face-off in Winnipeg. The upcoming Heritage Classic will feature an alumni game showcasing former players from the Winnipeg and Montreal teams, announced by the Jets on Tuesday.

Scheduled for January 24 at Princess Auto Stadium, the alumni game is a nostalgic precursor to the main event on the 25th when the Jets take on the Habs.

Leading the charge for the Jets’ team is the esteemed former captain, Blake Wheeler, who expressed his enthusiasm for reuniting with old teammates. “It’s good to spend the weekend with your former teammates,” Wheeler shared. “That’s a no-brainer.”

Meanwhile, Winnipeg native Mike Keane, a member of Montreal’s 1993 Stanley Cup-winning squad, will don the captain’s armband for the Canadiens alumni. Keane is looking forward to the friendly competition, cheekily hoping for a 10-10 tie.

The preliminary rosters for both teams have been unveiled:

Winnipeg:
– Blake Wheeler
– Dustin Byfuglien
– Andrew Ladd
– Bryan Little
– Mathieu Perreault
– Paul Stastny
– Chris Thorburn

Montreal:
– Dale Weise
– Paul Byron
– David Desharnais
– Patrice Brisebois
– David Savard
