Montreal authorities discovered the lifeless body of a 66-year-old woman in her Montreal-Ouest apartment on Sunday, amidst a neighborhood power outage. The Montreal police were alerted to the situation by firefighters who had found the woman unconscious at her residence on Hudson Avenue around 6 p.m.
The area had been experiencing power outages since Saturday morning, prompting the firefighters to conduct a welfare check. Following investigations, the Montreal Police (SPVM) spokesperson, Ann-Sophie Simard, confirmed that the woman’s death was not the result of a criminal act.
The case has now been passed on to the coroner’s office for further examination to establish the cause and specifics surrounding her passing.
