A man from British Columbia has been sentenced to five months in jail for uploading intimate videos and photos of his ex-partner without her consent on the popular website Pornhub. The judge’s ruling revealed that the man, who remains anonymous due to a publication ban, had been in an on-and-off relationship with the victim for over two years.
During their time together, the man recorded several videos of their intimate moments, some with the victim’s consent and others without. However, the victim never agreed to these private moments being shared online. After their relationship ended for the final time, the man persistently tried to contact the victim, even going as far as creating a Pornhub profile with her personal information and confessing to posting the content.
Upon discovering the profile, the victim promptly contacted the authorities, leading to the removal of the videos and photos by Pornhub in November 2023. The court sentenced the man to five months in jail and 18 months of probation, citing the premeditated and vengeful nature of his actions as aggravating factors in the case.
The investigation also revealed that the man had established the Pornhub account in 2022 and had garnered over 10,000 views on the illicit content. The court emphasized the seriousness of the offense, noting that the man potentially stood to profit from the views on the materials he had uploaded.
