Earthquakes Canada reported a 3.7 magnitude earthquake near Orillia, Ontario on Tuesday night. The earthquake, which occurred 23 kilometers east-southeast of Orillia and nearly 100 kilometers north of Toronto at 10:59 p.m., did not cause any damage, as confirmed by Earthquakes Canada.
Despite the lack of damage, residents across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and even as far south as St. Catharines reported feeling the tremors. Interestingly, the U.S. Geological Survey recorded the earthquake as a 4.1 magnitude, slightly higher than the reported magnitude by Earthquakes Canada.
