“Arctic Blast to Plunge Toronto into Deep Freeze This Week!”

Toronto is preparing for a blast of frigid Arctic air that will sweep in starting Thursday night, bringing bone-chilling temperatures and dangerous wind chills as low as -30°C. The Arctic blast is expected to grip the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) overnight, plummeting temperatures to a frosty -23°C. Factor in the northwesterly winds, and the wind chill will feel like a staggering -30°C, increasing the risk of frostbite on exposed skin within just 10 to 20 minutes.

The skies will remain mostly clear, allowing the mercury to nosedive rapidly after sundown. Authorities are advising caution as these harsh conditions can be perilous for those without proper shelter. Residents are urged to limit outdoor exposure and bundle up in layers for protection.

Friday morning will greet commuters with wind chills hovering near -30°C, promising a bone-chilling start to the day. Although there will be a mix of sun and clouds, the sunlight won’t offer much reprieve from the cold, as temperatures are expected to peak at -12°C during the day and dip to -16°C at night.

The cold snap will persist into Saturday, albeit with a slight moderation in temperatures. The day will bring a blend of sunny spells and cloud cover, accompanied by gentler northerly winds. Daytime highs will reach -10°C, while nighttime lows will drop to -17°C.

Despite still lingering below seasonal averages, Saturday’s weather conditions will feel less harsh compared to the bitter cold of Thursday night and Friday morning.

Sunday is anticipated to bring a welcome relief to Toronto, with mainly sunny skies and a high of -6°C, marking the warmest daytime temperatures in the short-term forecast. Although winds may pick up again, there is a gradual departure from the extreme cold in sight.
