Vancouver Physician Arrested, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Two Teenagers, Say Police

Dr. Herman Hau Man Lee, a Vancouver physician, is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting two teenage patients. The Vancouver Police Department initiated an investigation almost three years ago after a 17-year-old girl reported being assaulted at a Chinatown medical facility. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred over a span of several years.

During the probe, authorities uncovered another alleged assault involving a 14-year-old girl at a Burnaby clinic in 2015, also attributed to the same doctor.

The VPD is encouraging individuals who have interacted with Dr. Lee to come forward. Superintendent Dale Weidman of the VPD Investigation Division emphasized the importance of victims reporting such incidents and assured them of receiving support and care throughout the process.

Dr. Lee has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, sexual interference, and sexual exploitation in connection with incidents in Burnaby in 2015 and Vancouver from May 2018 to December 2022. Despite the charges, he is currently practicing as a physician but is under strict bail conditions, including the restriction of treating individuals under 16 without another adult present.
