Durham Regional Police have apprehended a man from Oshawa for reportedly making threats against his co-workers at a Whitby business.
The incident unfolded when authorities received a report on Monday, February 2, concerning an employee at the Durham Region Waste Management Facility on 1640 Ritson Road North who had allegedly made threats towards colleagues.
After conducting an investigation, the suspect was located at his home and taken into custody. The individual cooperated with law enforcement by surrendering firearms that were legally owned.
The accused, identified as Damien Johnston, aged 34 and hailing from Oshawa, has been charged with uttering threats and is currently awaiting a bail hearing.
