“Breaking: Gallant Commission Set to Unveil Explosive Findings on SAAQclic Debacle on February 16”

Quebecers will soon have access to the highly anticipated report of the Gallant Commission, set to be unveiled next Monday, Feb. 16. Judge Denis Gallant, leading the inquiry into the SAAQclic debacle, will address the media to present the findings and recommendations derived from the exhaustive investigation.

The comprehensive report reflects the extensive efforts of the commission, tasked with uncovering the reasons behind cost overruns during the digital transformation of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) and the subsequent failure of the SAAQclic platform. Over the course of 75 days, more than 130 witnesses testified during public hearings, with a meticulous review of over 200,000 documents, including 2,500 pieces of evidence.

Initially delayed twice, the report’s publication was rescheduled to finally be revealed on Feb. 16, 2026, after the previous dates of Sept. 30, 2025, and Dec. 15, 2025.

Judge Gallant emphasized the thoroughness of the inquiry, ensuring that every aspect was scrutinized to provide a comprehensive understanding of the situation. The failed digital transition of the SAAQ is projected to exceed the anticipated cost by $500 million, reaching a substantial $1.1 billion by 2027, as reported by the Auditor General of Quebec.

The forthcoming recommendations from Gallant are expected to focus on enhancing practices to prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future.
