“Quebec Set to Broaden Access to ‘Votre santé’ Health Portal in Major Expansion Push”

Geneviève Biron, the president and CEO of Santé Québec, has given a positive evaluation of Quebec’s health-care system just over a year after its establishment. While acknowledging the challenges ahead, Biron shared exciting news about the upcoming launch of Votre santé, a digital portal designed to enhance citizens’ access to health information and services in their regions.

During a recent address at a Canadian Club conference in Montreal, Biron unveiled the Votre santé project, emphasizing its potential to streamline healthcare access for residents. The pilot projects for Votre santé have commenced in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region and the municipality of Saint-Donat, with plans for expansion to other regions in the near future.

The Votre santé platform was a key promise of the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) in 2022, aiming to revolutionize healthcare accessibility for Quebecers by offering easy and integrated medical appointment scheduling, whether in-person or via telehealth.

Biron highlighted the importance of prioritizing access to healthcare services, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to improve the system despite challenges such as staff shortages and outdated infrastructure. She also celebrated the significant progress made by Santé Québec in reducing surgery wait times and enhancing access to mental health and youth protection services.

As Santé Québec continues its mission to transform the healthcare landscape, Biron expressed confidence in the organization’s ability to address the evolving needs of Quebec’s population while delivering tangible results.
