Police Confirm: Surrey Explosion and House Fire Not Linked to Extortion

An explosion and subsequent house fire near Surrey’s Green Timbers Urban Forest Park on Monday night has sparked a police investigation. The incident unfolded on 100A Avenue close to 140 Street around 9:15 p.m., prompting swift responses from first responders.

Surrey Fire Services swiftly moved in to combat the blaze, while Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers came across an individual who was promptly taken to the hospital with injuries deemed to be non-life-threatening.

The task of determining the cause of the explosion has been assumed by the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU). Authorities have clarified that the incident is not believed to be linked to extortion-related activities.
