“Brace for Winter’s Chill: Snowstorm Targets B.C.’s South Coast with Frigid Cold!”

Get Ready for Cooler Weather in Lower Mainland this Week

Residents of the Lower Mainland are advised to brace themselves for a shift to cooler temperatures in the upcoming days.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a special alert for Metro Vancouver and other regions along B.C.’s southern coast on Monday. According to the agency, a weather system moving down from the north is expected to bring chilly temperatures and light precipitation overnight.

Higher altitude areas are likely to experience snowfall as the system sweeps through.

Meteorologist Carl Lam from 1130 NewsRadio warns that the cold spell may persist until the week’s end. He notes that temperatures are expected to dip significantly, possibly even leading to snowflakes in locations like YVR.

Lam points out that the forecast for this time of year is atypical, with daytime highs predicted to hover around four to five degrees, well below the average for February.

While a blizzard is not on the horizon, sub-zero temperatures could create hazardous driving conditions with slippery roads. ECCC advises motorists to stay vigilant and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility and road surfaces.
