Montreal police say two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were arrested in connection with a series of thefts and frauds targeting seniors.
The SPVM alleges the two suspects operated in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Montreal North, as well as in Sherbrooke.
They were arrested Feb. 19.
Montreal police say the scene involved targeting addresses where seniors resided in order to enter and steal their bank cards.
“Following the theft, the suspects allegedly called the victims, impersonating police officers or representatives of financial institutions, to confirm the address and the PINs of the stolen cards,” the SPVM said.
“Once the information was confirmed, they allegedly made withdrawals from various banks.”
