A pedestrian is in hospital with serious injuries after a hit-and-run in Coquitlam.
RCMP say the incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday near Atlantic Avenue and The High Street.
A witness told Coquitlam RCMP that the driver of the red SUV, a woman between 30 and 40 years old, stopped and exited the car but drove away shortly after.
The BC Emergency Health Service (BC EHS) says that the person was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
“An ambulance with primary care paramedics and an advanced care paramedic response unit attended the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient,” the BC EHS said in a written statement.
