Police are asking the public for dash-cam footage as they continue to investigate a hit-and-run in Coquitlam on Tuesday.
Coquitlam RCMP say that officers are looking for a woman between 30 and 40 years old who drove a red SUV with an unknown licence plate.
The pedestrian was struck when they were crossing the street at a designated crosswalk near Atlantic Avenue and The High Street shortly after 1 p.m.
According to a witness, the driver initially exited the car after hitting the pedestrian.

“And allegedly told the witness she was going to move her SUV, but upon returning to it, she drove away,” Sgt. Adriana O’Malley said in a written statement.
The BC Emergency Health Service (BC EHS) says that the victim was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition shortly after.
“The driver involved in this incident knows they struck this pedestrian. In addition to seeking witnesses or dash cam footage, we are asking this driver to do the right thing and contact police,” O’Malley added.
