An octogenarian is in critical condition Wednesday after falling to the ground in Longueuil.
The man may have been “electrocuted,” according to a statement posted on social media by the Longueuil Police Department (SPAL).
The accident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Springfield Street in the borough of Greenfield Park. The man was taken to a hospital and his “condition is considered critical.”
“A scene has been set up and SPAL investigators have been called in to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this event,” the SPAL statement said.
The police department did not specify whether weather conditions—in particular, the freezing rain falling on southern Quebec—were a factor.
