Peace Arch Hospital closes maternity ward temporarily for 6th time in 2026

The maternity unit at White Rock’s Peace Arch Hospital will temporarily turn away expectant parents once again this week.

From Tuesday, April 7, at 8 a.m. until Tuesday, April 14, at 8 a.m., patients will be diverted to other maternity wards.

This will be the sixth closure this year.

Fraser Health states that when physicians are unavailable to fill the gaps in the obstetrics/gynecology schedule, they implement a maternity diversion to support safe, uninterrupted care for their patients.
