Police are investigating after a driver struck and seriously injured a man in Vancouver Wednesday morning.
The Vancouver Police Department says the driver of a white GMC Yukon struck the victim, a 68-year-old man, as he was crossing the intersection of Oak Street and West 6th Avenue around 9:15 a.m.
“The driver did not remain at the scene,” said a VPD statement Friday.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to hospital with what police describe as “life-altering injuries.”
Now, investigators are seeking witnesses or those with dashcam video of the collision or the driver fleeing south on Oak Street toward Broadway or West 7th Avenue.
