Montrealers should be aware of a weekend full closure and extended lane restrictions on Highway 520 West near Highway 13, as well as additional ramp closures in the West Island, as the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility carries out ongoing roadwork in the region.
The Ministry says Highway 520 West will be fully closed from Friday at 9:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. between Exit 4 (Mirabel / A-13 / Montée de Liesse / Lachine / Laval) and the entrance from Highway 13 South.
The closure is required as part of reconstruction work on the Highway 520 overpass above Highway 13.
A detour will be in place via the service road (Côte-de-Liesse Road).
After the weekend closure, Highway 520 West will remain reduced to one lane in the Highway 13 sector until May 4 at 5 a.m.
During this period, the entrance from Montée de Liesse will also remain closed until May 4.
The ministry says these continued restrictions are required to support ongoing reconstruction work on the overpass.
Separate work in the West Island will also impact drivers on Highway 30.
From Friday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the following closures will be in effect:
Detours will be clearly marked using temporary signage.
The ministry is warning drivers to expect congestion in both work zones and is advising motorists to allow extra travel time, particularly those heading toward Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.
Drivers are encouraged to check Québec 511 before travelling.
Officials say the work may be postponed, extended or cancelled depending on weather conditions or operational constraints.
The ministry is thanking motorists for their patience and reminding them that respecting construction signage is essential for the safety of both drivers and workers.
