Quebec’s medical specialists will vote Thursday night on whether to accept the agreement in principle reached with the province this week.
The Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ) says the vote will take place at a special general meeting.
The results will be announced on the FMSQ’s social media.
If accepted, Quebec’s medical specialists would have a new framework agreement after their previous one expired March 31, 2023.
An agreement was reached Monday afternoon. Negotiations between the government and the FMSQ resumed earlier this month after being suspended for several weeks.
Specialist doctors had been demanding a 14.5 per cent salary increase over five years, but the CAQ remained firm on its offer of 11 per cent.
It’s unclear what the parties agreed to.
The CAQ government recently granted a 14.5 per cent increase to family doctors, in addition to a 2.5 per cent bonus if they achieve care objectives.
