Transport Quebec says road work will be conducted on Highway 520 as well as the Honoré Mercier Bridge over the coming weekend.
Highway 520 closures will be due to the reconstruction of the overpasses over Highway 13 and over 43 Avenue.
This closure will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1, with the closure of the ramp leading from Highway 13 northbound to Highway 520 westbound.
At 10 p.m. on Friday, the service road on Highway 520 — Côte-de-Liesse Road — westbound, between Montée de Liesse and Renaud Avenue, will be closed with the exception of local traffic being allowed to the entrance leading to Highway 13 northbound.
Also at 10 p.m., the ramps leading from Montée de Liesse to the westbound service road will close.
All of these closures will be in place until Monday, May 4, at 5 a.m.
Additionally, on May 3, work will resume on the reconstruction of the overpass over 43 Avenue. This work is expected to last until the beginning of the summer.
Officials say that for around three weeks traffic on the expressways of Highway 520, between Riddle Avenue and Highway 46e Avenue, will be diverted to the service roads.
During this time, 43 Avenue will be closed between Ryan Avenue and Joseph-Dubreuil Street, Ryan Avenue will be closed between 43 Avenue and Renaud Avenue, Joseph-Dubreuil Street will be closed between 43 Avenue and 46 Avenue, and the ramp leading from 43 Avenue to the service road of Highway 520 eastbound will be closed.
Those heading to the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport are being advised to plan accordingly.
Transport Quebec also says that the Honoré Mercier Bridge will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction from 3 a.m. on May 2 until 5 a.m. on May 4.
This work is to repair concrete slabs on the upstream structure of the bridge.
The lane reduction will also include the closure of the entrance and reserved lane from Airlie Street.
During this time, detour signs will be in place.
Those looking to hit the roads are advised to check Québec 511 prior to doing so.
Additionally, any work may be postponed due to adverse weather or operational constraints.
