One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Delta on Saturday.
According to the Delta Police Department (DPD), officers responded to the incident shortly before 3:10 p.m. near the intersection of 75A Avenue and 118th Street.
Additionally, eight BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) ambulances arrived at the scene shortly after and provided emergency medical care to six patients.
“Several occupants were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and sadly, the driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said Sgt. Mike Whiteley in a written statement.
Vincent Chou, BCEHS spokesperson, added that the other patients were transported to a hospital, “two in serious condition and three patients in serious but stable condition.”
The Delta Police Collision Analysts are investigating the incident and are asking witnesses or people with camera footage to contact the DPD at 604-946-4411.
Since investigators remain on scene to collect evidence, residents are advised that road closures are in effect.
