Two suspects were arrested in Ontario following a Canada-wide arrest warrant in connection with a home invasion case in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough Wednesday.
According to Montreal police (SPVM), Christopher Ethan Prince, 20, and a 17-year-old suspect were allegedly involved in a home invasion incident in Montreal earlier this year.
Police say that on n Jan. 28, 2026, an individual reportedly arrived at a residence claiming to be delivering a package.
“When the residents opened the door, he reportedly entered the home, followed by three accomplices, two of whom were reportedly armed with firearms,” SPVM said in a statement Thursday.
“During the incident, one of the armed suspects reportedly fired a shot. One suspect was reportedly shot in the abdomen, while the resident sustained a minor injury to the arm. The four suspects then reportedly fled, leaving behind several pieces of evidence at the scene.”
The suspects were arrested in a joint operation between Montreal and Toronto and Durham police departments. They were arrested in Ajax and Toronto after a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued.
Prince appeared appeared via video link at the Montreal courthouse, while the minor suspect appeared via video link before the Youth Division of the Court of Quebec, SPVM said.
The two suspects face several charges, including breaking and entering, brandishing a firearm, and recklessly discharging a firearm. Both suspects will be transferred to Montreal in the coming days to appear in person.
The allegations have to yet to be proven in court.
