Terrace RCMP issue amber alert for twins

British Columbians woke to an amber alert Monday morning for three-year-old twins believed to have been abducted.

Around 1:10 a.m., the Terrace RCMP issued the alert, searching for Raina and Mathias Wood, who disappeared from a home on Kalum Street near Graham Avenue around 10 p.m. Sunday.

The twins are described as blonds with blue eyes. Raina is a girl, last seen wearing pink pants. Mathias is a boy, last seen wearing beige pants.

Police listed the suspect as 37-year-old Tova Josephine Wood, who is described as a 5′ 6″, 140-pound woman with light brown hair past her shoulders and green eyes.

Wood is suspected to be travelling in a red 2015 Dodge Caravan with the licence plate ME5 38F. She was last seen driving east from the Kalum Street residence.

Mounties have released images of the children, the suspect, and suspect vehicle to aide in the search.

“Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mathias, Raina and/or Tova Josephine Wood is urged to not approach and call 911 immediately,” said a police statement.
