One of Montreal’s most recognizable race weekend traditions is set to return this week as the Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary with four days of free entertainment and downtown festivities.
Running from Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, May 24, the annual festival is expected to draw more than 600,000 visitors to the heart of downtown Montreal during one of the city’s busiest tourism weekends.
What began as a local street celebration has evolved into a major attraction tied to Montreal’s Formula 1 race weekend, transforming Crescent Street into a hub of live entertainment, automotive displays, celebrity appearances, and interactive fan experiences.
Produced by SEGAL Entertainment, the festival has become known for its energetic atmosphere, featuring live music, DJs, large-scale brand activations, and showcases aimed at racing fans and visitors alike.
Festivities officially begin Thursday evening with the Opening Ceremony and the Celebrity Pit Stop Challenge, a fan-favourite event that has become one of the signature moments of the weekend. Organizers say attendees can also expect main stage performances, immersive activations, and the Canadian debut presentation of the INFINITI QX65.
Beyond the entertainment, organizers say the festival continues to play an important economic role for Montreal’s downtown core by generating increased traffic for local restaurants, bars, hotels, and retailers during race weekend.
With international tourists, motorsport fans, and Montrealers expected to pack the downtown streets once again, the 25th edition of the Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival is shaping up to be one of the city’s largest public celebrations of the summer season.
