Summer-like warmth and strong winds arrive in Montreal this week

A stretch of warm, late-spring weather is settling into Montreal this week, bringing sunny skies, rising humidity and gusty winds before rain moves in for the weekend.

Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day of the stretch, with temperatures reaching 29 Celsius and humid conditions making it feel closer to 32 C. Sunny skies will dominate through much of the day as southwest winds strengthen, with gusts forecast to reach up to 70 km/h by late afternoon.

Clouds will increase overnight, along with a 30 per cent chance of showers before morning. The overnight low is expected to sit around 17 C.

Warm conditions will continue Wednesday with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 25 C. There is also a slight chance of showers early in the day before skies begin to clear.

Thursday and Friday are expected to remain mild and seasonable, with daytime highs near 21 C and 22 C under partly sunny skies. Showers are expected to develop Friday night.

The weather pattern turns wetter heading into the weekend. Saturday is forecast to bring periods of rain and a high of 19 C, while Sunday will stay mostly cloudy with a continued chance of showers and a high around 18 C.

Monday is expected to bring a mix of sun and cloud with a lingering chance of showers and a daytime high of 21 C.
