Around 6 a.m. Wednesday police responded to a 911 call regarding a collision at the intersection of Bossuet and Hochelaga streets in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Once on the scene, police say they located a man in the vehicle, his death was pronounced on the scene.
Police say according to initial information the vehicle was travelling at high speed, on Bossuet and when crossing Hochelaga, the vehicle collided with another vehicle travelling on Hochelaga. The vehicle then came to a stop, colliding into a residential building.
Police say they are trying to determine whether the man was the only person in the vehicle as it currently not possible to determine whether he was the driver or passenger.
Investigators are currently on the scene, and police have closed surrounding streets to conduct their investigation.
