The federal government is reportedly putting up big bucks towards Quebec City’s tramway project.
Ottawa has agreed to contribute $2.75 billion to the project, according to the Journal de Québec. That would represent 36 per cent of the project’s total cost.
It follows months of negotiations. The feds had previously committed to spending $1.44 billion.
An official announcement is expected Tuesday by Prime Minister Mark Carney and Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette.
