Threats against members of Quebec’s National Assembly are on the rise.
Security handled 668 files in 2025-26 compared to 498 the previous year — an increase of 34 per cent — according to data revealed by the president of the National Assembly, Nathalie Roy.
Of the 668 files handled, just under half, or 296, were deemed serious by police. That’s a 27 per cent increase in files of interest, compared to the previous year.
