A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot while sitting in his car Thursday morning in Laval’s Auteuil district.
Police were called to Palardy Street around 8:30 a.m. following reports of gunfire.
Investigators have not yet determined the circumstances surrounding the shooting. After the shots were fired, the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Emergency crews found the victim in cardiopulmonary arrest. Resuscitation efforts began immediately before he was transported by ambulance to hospital.
Officers established a large security perimeter around the area as forensic specialists examined the scene and gathered evidence.
Police continue to investigate.
