Transport Quebec says Highway 25, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, Souligny Avenue, and Highway 132, will be closed for part of the weekend.
Officials say that the closure will be overnight from June 12 to 13 and is to allow for maintenance work to be done to the tunnel’s electrical and communication system and for concreting northbound Highway 25.
The closure will be in place from 11 p.m. on Friday until 8 a.m. on Saturday along Highway 25 between exit 5 — Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street — and the entrance from Charron Island heading towards the South Shore, while also being closed between exit 90 — Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie, USA, Varennes, P.-E.-Trudeau airport — and the entrance from Yves-Prévost Boulevard heading toward Montreal.
Additionally, Souligny Avenue will be closed in both directions between Dickson Street and Honoré-Beaugrand Street between 10:30 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.
Part of Highway 132 is expected to be closed overnight from June 13 to 14.
Officials say the closure is to allow for marking work to be carried out.
Eastbound Highway 132 will be closed between Roland-Therrien Boulevard and Highway 20 between 10 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
For this closure, entrances onto Highway 132 will close 30 minutes before the section of the highway, and a detour will be available along Marie-Victorin Boulevard.
As always, work may be postponed or delayed due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. Transport Quebec recommends checking Québec 511 before hitting the streets.
