Peel Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with a violent incident outside a nightclub in Mississauga over the Caribana weekend festivities.
The arrest was made following an investigation into the stabbing that occurred near Sugar Daddy’s Nite Club on Dixie Road and Eglinton Avenue in the early hours of August 1. The victim was found with multiple stab wounds and was rushed to a trauma center for urgent medical care.
32-year-old Gregory Darling, a resident of Brampton, has been taken into custody by the authorities in relation to the incident. He has been charged with aggravated assault and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton following a bail hearing.
The police have not disclosed the motive behind the attack, but footage from the scene shows blood stains near the club’s entrance, indicating the severity of the incident.
