A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries late Monday night following an alleged assault believed to have occurred near Maison Benoît Labre, but Montreal police (SPVM) were unable to confirm exact location.
SPVM responded to a 911 call at approximately 11 p.m. reporting an assault on Atwater Ave. near Notre-Dame Street.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from serious upper-body injuries believed to have been caused by a sharp object.
“The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries, but his life is not considered to be in danger,” said SPVM spokesperson Florence Stafford.
Police established a security perimeter around the scene while investigators examined the area and gathered evidence.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
