Surrey police investigating after teen girl sexually assaulted by stranger

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in the city’s Clayton Heights Neighbourhood.

Police say the girl reported being near the intersection of 188 Street and 70 Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, when she was approached from behind and assaulted.

She was able to get away and run to safety, the SPS says.

The suspect is described as being approximately 20 years of age and  6’1″ or 6’2″ tall with a medium build, curly black hair, and a short black beard covering his chin, mouth, and sides of his face. He was wearing a black T-shirt and may have been wearing dark pants.

Police say he was last seen walking north on 188 Street.
