Police investigating after early morning shots fired in Surrey City Centre

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating after shots were fired at a home in the City Centre neighbourhood early Thursday.

Officers were called to a dwelling near 96 Avenue and 133A Street shortly after 6 a.m., the SPS says.

“Upon arrival, police located damage caused by gunfire to the exterior of the residence,” police said.

“The residence was occupied at the time of the shots fired and, fortunately, no one was injured.”

The motive is unknown, but the SPS says the shooting appears to have been targeted. However, it isn’t clear whether the incident is related to extortion.

Investigators will be in the area collecting evidence Thursday, the SPS says.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and refer to file 26-58932 (SP).
