Police say that ‘a fatal motor vehicle incident’ occurred on Saturday evening in Maple Ridge.
The crash happened near the intersection of Lougheed Highway and 287 Street.
The Maple Ridge RCMP did not provide more information at this point, but the BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) tells CityNews that one ambulance responded to the scene at 8:40 p.m.
“Paramedics provided emergency medical care to two patients who were transported to hospital in stable condition,” BC EHS said in a written statement.
Mounties add that officers are currently on scene, investigating the incident.
“Westbound traffic on Lougheed Highway between 287 Street and Hayward Street is currently closed,” Maple Ridge RCMP said.
Police are urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
