The Abbotsford Police Department (Abby PD) says that it has seized a woman’s vehicle after she disregarded a road closure on Saturday at the intersection of Whatcom Road and South Parallel Road.
According to police, the driver “demanded to proceed through the closure” when she was approaching it, which was the scene of a motorcycle collision shortly before.
She ignored the instructions of a police officer and kept driving, attempting to make her way through the closure. In doing so, she nearly pinned the officer between her SUV and the police vehicle. He suffered minor injuries after being hit by the vehicle,” The Abby PD said in a written statement.
“The driver then accelerated through the scene at a high rate of speed.”
Police did not pursue the driver, who allegedly reached a speed of 160 km/h when leaving the scene.
