Montreal-Trudeau airport impacted by Dorval power outage

Some IT systems were temporarily unavailable at Montreal-Trudeau airport on Wednesday afternoon due to a nearby power outage.

“Various areas of the airport,” were impacted, a spokesperson for Aéroports de Montréal told CityNews. The issues began around 2 p.m.

“Our teams are currently working to resolve the issue, and we will notify you as soon as the situation returns to normal,” according to the spokesperson.

Some systems were back online by 3 p.m.

The Hydro-Québec outages map showed hundreds of homes in the Dorval area were affected. The cause was “equipment damage or malfunction due to a component manufacturing defect,” according to Hydro-Québec’s website.

A traveller headed to Halifax told CityNews that boarding on several flights was delayed.

More coming.
