A teenage cyclist has died following a collision with a tractor-trailer in Saint-Hyacinthe Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called around 1:30 p.m. to Boulevard Laframboise, where a truck and a cyclist had collided.
According to initial information, the truck was turning northbound onto the boulevard from Rue Martineau when the cyclist, who was also travelling north, was struck. Police say the driver did not appear to see the cyclist.
The young cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was taken to hospital and treated for shock.
A reconstructionist was expected to attend the scene to help determine the cause and circumstances of the collision.
Boulevard Laframboise was closed between Martineau Street and Allaire.
Motorists were advised to avoid taking Exit 130 from Highway 20 toward Laframboise Boulevard North.
